Monroe Manor’s family story

It’s not the timeline of events, calendar years or even the physical building that make up Monroe Manor’s history.  It’s all about the people who have lived here.  From university professors, farmers, published authors, and musicians, Monroe Manor’s history is a collection of faces and memories. 

As each of us grows older day by day, we eventually reach a point in time where we need assistance in our daily tasks.  Some of us may be fortunate enough to have close family looking after us but with life becoming busier and busier, this option seems harder to obtain.  Though we may not offer intensive care services such as a nursing home provides, Monroe Manor is a CBRF state licensed assisted living retirement home featuring world-class Alzheimer’s care. 

A Place Called Home

Throughout the years, Monroe Manor has been called a home for many people, from many different backgrounds.  It has been an employer to numerous Barron County families, sponsoring and donating to the community it serves.

Located only eight blocks from Mayo Health System Hospital and situated on the banks of Quaderer’s Creek, Monroe Manor offers proximity to downtown services but maintains an independent, nature-like atmosphere of peaceful living.  Waterfalls, vegetable gardens, flower beds and bird feeders, along with scenic pathways and outdoor overlooks, allow residents and visitors to truly experience the heart of Monroe Manor.

The Very Best Care

Monroe Manor began caring for families, friends and the community in 1982.  Since then, there have been several construction and medical staff additions. Safety, comfort and compassionate care are core service aspects delivered to all Monroe Manor residents.  Trained state-certified staff provides 24 hour awake care and also work professionally with each resident’s personal physician. Area clergy make regular visits, providing social and spiritual comfort as do school children who arrive to enhance the young at heart environment.

Residents and their families enjoy many amenities at Monroe Manor.  A large cinema theatre, internet café coffee shop, a library, beauty parlor, wood working shop, exercise / physical therapy room, Skype video interface conferencing, a chapel, and deliciously prepared home cooked meals are just a few amenities offered.
